di Giovanni Piccinini Twentieth Century Zoo è una delle prime perle psichedeliche fuzz psych ad essere prodotte nella città di Phoenix (Arizona). La loro storia iniziò nel 1966, quando Bob Sutko, studente della West High School, reclutò Allan Chitwood e Greg Farley e fondò la band folk-rock The Bitter Sweets. Il gruppo diventò un appuntamento fisso nella scena rock and roll nella Salt River Valley, affrontando leggende locali come The Spiders (fondato da Vincent Furnier, in seguito noto come Alice Cooper), Caravelles e Frantics, fino alla nascita nel 1968 della band Twentieth Century Zoo.
